Giclée Reproductions...The Affordable Alternative
For many people collecting original artwork from a well-known artist can sometimes be cost prohibitive. But now, new advancements in printing technology are allowing more and more individuals to collect high-quality, reasonably priced art reproductions that they can use to decorate their homes and offices.
Giclée Printing Technology
The giclée printing process is a new technique that provides an increased level of accuracy in fine art reproduction. Giclée, pronounced " zhee-CLAY" is derived from a French verb meaning "to spray" or "to splash", and is used to describe a print produced using this remarkable new printing process. Giclées are created from a digital scan of an existing piece of original artwork and are produced using a highly sophisticated printing technique which fires one million droplets of ink per second through special state-of-the-art nozzles.
The giclée is printed on heavyweight, cotton canvas using specially developed archival inks to ensure permanence in excess of 100 years. The canvas is stretched using a gallery wrap technique which gives it the finished look of the original painting.
Signed Limited Editions and Pricing
Priced at 20% the cost of the original painting, every giclée is personally signed by the artist and select images are printed and numbered as limited editions. The completed giclées are shipped unframed to the client.
